Christmas Eve '08

For Christmas Eve, Lyn's family gets together for Christmas dinner!

Everyone always brings something to share and Gramie makes our favorite Christmas pomegranate Jello. It's the best!

After dinner we act out the Christmas Story from the Bible

Grandpa Vic was the reader this year.

Ellie, & Tiesha were the angels, and Bekah & Ray were Mary & Joseph

Chris was the shepherd, and Klint, Weston and Lyn were the 3 Wisemen, after Grandpa read the story, we all sang "Away In A Manger"

Then it was time for presents from Uncle Allan, and Christmas P.J.'s

Ellie had her Orchestra Christmas concert at the middle school.

All the 5th graders from the valley elementary schools orchestra classes met together to form the 5th grade orchestra. They sounded incredible, like a real orchestra.

The Nutcracker Ballet!

On Wed. Dec 3rd, I got to go with Ellie and her 5th grade class to the Nutcraker Ballet!

It was really fun to get to go. This is Ellie, and her McKinen, in front the Capitol Theatre.

The most boys in her class were not excited to be there, especially since they had to be dressed up.

Here we are waitin' for the ballet to start. Ellie and I had been to see it before a couple of years ago, so we new what to except, but McKinen hadn't ever seen it, so it was fun to watch it with her. The boys in front of us were quite bored, and one of them even said he would NEVER come back. I think a little culture never hurts anyone.

Thanksgiving Day '08

A few days before Thanksgiving, my sister in law got the grandchildren together and made these cool Oreo Turkeys.

We had the dinner at my brother, Corey's new house, and it turned out very nice.

My aunt Charlotte & my sister, Krystalina just found out they both have Celiacs disease. So we had to make a few adjustments for dinner like Gluten free rolls, and cornbread stuffing. They both ate their pumpkin pie without the crust, which I think is better anyway.

Mandy had the tables all decorted very festive, and we just served dinner buffet style.

My brother in law, Brian even offered to do the dishes, so all us girls let him.

Then it was time for Turkey naps & a little B-ball.

It was quite a game of 2 ball poison, they even got me to play a few rounds.

Then it was time for Pie & Thanksgiving left-overs.

After we ate pie, some of my brothers, and sisters taught me how to play a game called "Ticket to Ride". It was a lot of fun, and kind of a challenge to play.

All in all we had a great Thanksgiving, we were only missing my brother Jacob and his family, who live in Switzerland. We hope you had a Great Thanksgiving too.
