Baskets of Friendship-Design Challenge Quilt

The design challenge this year for Quilt Guild was called Baskets of Friendship!
We all had to make a 9 in. block then we swapped them, made 3 more basket blocks, added flowers, and then made a quilt or wall hanging.
This is the block that my friend and fellow quilter, Joan DeFrieze made.
I added the flowers to it.

This is my favorite. Gotta love that purple!
This quilt was quite a trial for me, the blocks ended up being different sizes, which made the sashing a bit difficult, however it turned out BEAUTIFUL in the end.

I even tried a flower quilting design instead of just stippling. I'm learning a lot and gaining more confidence. I gave this quilt to Aunt Kathryn for her Birthday.

Quilt Guild Fun!

The 1st weekend in May our quilt guild had a retreat in Park City. 3 days of non-stop quilting!Mom watched the kids on Friday, and I was able to go up and stay overnight and come home Sat. afternoon. It was so fun!
Here our my friends, Jenny and Rachel in the cutting room.
This is the view of the quilters from the cutting room. We moved all the furniture on the lower level and set up tables so we could sew.
One of the classes at the retreat, was learning to make a kalidoscope quilt. This is my freind Patty's quilt blocks and it is all from the same material. It's the way that you cut it that makes it so different. So cool!
The best way to sew is in your P.J.'S
Me, Patty, Crusan, Jenny, and Rachel
This is one for Jenny's quilt blocks that we are all doing for quilt block of the month. I really like these colors!
While we quilted into the wee hours of the morning, we also had chic flics to watch/listen to, this one was my favorite!

This past week we have had a lot of cousins visiting at Grandpa & Grandma Berg's house. We have had a blast playing with them and getting to know them better.
We have had picnics on Grandma's porch with Andalyn.

Playtime in the basement at Grandma's house.

Dress-ups with Sydney.

This is Grandpa Berg and Baby Porter taking a nap.

Binky wars with Abram, my nephew from Switerland.

This is the Dora cake, I made for my niece, Maddison's 3rd B-day!

All the cousin's at Charlotte b-day party!

This is the I spy quilt I made for my nephew Porter!
I even machine quilted every other square and labled it!

It's been a fun and crazy week!

Heather's Projects

This is another cake that I made for Lyn's partners daughter, Landrea. It turned out pretty cool.
She is a very girly girl so this jewelry box cake was prefect for her. My friends and family are telling me I should start a cake decorating business. What do you think?!
This is my 1st major quilt design for my new hobby, the Heber Valley quilt guild. It is a 6month project called design challenge, and this is 2 months worth. 1st was to make a quilt out of the assigned element, my was earth, the others where air, water, and fire, and 2nd was to applique something on it. I found the bear pattern online and really wanted to use it. My friend/mentor Rachel really helped me out with this! If it wasn't for her I would never be able to do this! Thanks Rach! It's been fun. So far, so good.
This is another project I've been working. A R.S. Valentine enrichment project. Yes, Valentine's is over, but I have other plans for this cute quilt.
