All the kids had fun and got spoiled with tons of goodies!

Easter Egg Coloring Fun!
I had a few left over kits from previous years and just let the kids be creative.
Bekah dyed her eggs then painted them.
Ellie and Weston experimented with the dye for a rainbow effect.
Ray just stuck his eggs in a bunch of colors.

The Easter Bunny loot.

SURPRISE! Happy Easter!

A few things we did in March!Ellie gave Gramie Anderson, her very own concert for her birthday.
She played 4 songs for her. She is quite the violinist.

Ray learned to climb up in the weeping willow tree all by himself! He was so proud of this accomplishment, however he has yet to learn how to get down.
Weston had to make a tool box, for his last requirement to pass off his Bear, for cub scouts.
He liked running the sander, and did a great job on the box!

Christmas Programs

The girls both had Christmas programs this year.
Bekah's 2nd graders, did a musical about Santa losing his Christmas spirit. The songs and dances were fun to watch.
Bekah is in the short sleeved green shirt.
Here they are singing the baking song. Bekah is wearing the apron she made.

Ellie's Violin Concert
Ellie and her BFF Anna preforming with the 6th grade Orchestra.
They did a great job!
I really liked their white dresses with blue satin sashes.
Yes! They did play that song.
Way to go girls!

This was her favorite card, from her cousin, Brieanna!
She loved the silver fox tail Grma Susy, and Grpa Blaine got for her too.

Mother/Daughter Summer Book Club

Ellie and I joined the Summer Book Club at the library. The 1st book is one of our favorites Dragon Slippers by Jessica Day George. We really had a fun time reading it again together.
Ellie and I pose for our picture! She is dressed up as Creel, the heroine of the book and I'm a dragon named Feniul.
Even though this book has a girl for the heroine it is about fighting and of dragons. So even Conner, my friends son, thought it was cool.
For our discussion mtg. my friend, Miss Sally transformed the library in to King's Seat, the setting for most of the book. In the clothe district, we made our own pair of Dragon Slippers.
We played dress-up in Dreda's Dress Shop.
Miss Sally, dressed up as Creel, and Anna, as Princess Amalia with her little dog Pippen.
Ellie and I both had a great time, and Ellie really liked making her very own dragon slippers. Part of the discussion was "What would you like your Dragon Slipper magic to be?" The kids had some good ideas like being able to fly, and getting their homework done, however the mothers ideas were great, the laundry done in the blink of an eye, clean magic-everything stays clean, beam me up magic-to never be late, and for all the gross health food (rice cakes) to taste like chocolate.

What's more SUMMER than Baseball?

You would think that Summer and Baseball were two of a kind,
However, check out the spectators in their jackets and long pants!
Weston played for the Indians this year. It's his 1st year in AAA baseball.
He is a great batter, and has had some good hits this season!
Check out all the snow still on Timp.
Weston plays outfield, and it's not because he isn't a good player. He pays attention while he's out there and has helped make some great double plays.
Not very many pictures this year because of all the Rainy games.

Speaking of rainy games. At one of Ellie's games this week, the High School Freshman Boys team was playing in the field next to our game, and it was raining so hard that the freshman game got called, but the girls softball didn't, we just kept playing through the downpour.
Just goes to show ya GIRLS are TOUGHER than Boys!
Ellie played on the Mets softball team this year.
She is becoming quite the little player! She's a great hitter and base stealer!
She picked # 11 because she's 11 yrs. old.

She enjoys playing softball and has made some new friends on this years team too!
Her team likes to cheer for each other when the go up to hit.
One of their cheers goes like this.

We don't wear no miniskirts-Repeat
We just wear our softball shirts-Repeat
We don't drink no lemonade-Repeat
We just drink our Gatorade-Repeat
We don't play with Barbie dolls-Repeat
We just play with bats & balls-Repeat.

My favorite is:
Ellie is her name and softball is her game.
She got a homer on her mind, and Whooo!
She's lookin' fine!

It's been a great season for baseball, just a lil' bit too rainy for this Mom fan!

Ellie's Concert

Ellie had her Orchestra Christmas concert at the middle school.
(Ellie is straight down from the basketball hoop)
All the 5th graders from the valley elementary schools orchestra classes met together to form the 5th grade orchestra. They sounded incredible, like a real orchestra.
This picture is a little blurry, but Ellie is the one in the back.
Ellie and her best friend Anna both play the violin in the orchestra.

The Nutcracker Ballet!

On Wed. Dec 3rd, I got to go with Ellie and her 5th grade class to the Nutcraker Ballet!
It was really fun to get to go. This is Ellie, and her McKinen, in front the Capitol Theatre.

McKinen, Ellie, and Vonya

Ellie & some of her classmates, Collin, Wyatt, (Ellie), McKinen, with the Nutcraker.
The most boys in her class were not excited to be there, especially since they had to be dressed up.

Ellie and Maria with the Nutcraker.

Here we are waitin' for the ballet to start. Ellie and I had been to see it before a couple of years ago, so we new what to except, but McKinen hadn't ever seen it, so it was fun to watch it with her. The boys in front of us were quite bored, and one of them even said he would NEVER come back. I think a little culture never hurts anyone.
