Face Paint and Big Snakes!

Saturday, June 21st was the 2nd Annual Literary Picnic @ the Library. For some unknown reason I volunteered to help, and actually it turned out to be pretty fun and we had a good turn out. There were mostly booths for the kids and a few for the adults too. It 's to kick off the summer reading program. This year's summer story hour is all about BUGS!

Soda Pop the Clown and her crew was there painting faces, and making balloon animals.

Face painting was the most popular booth!

This is Ray, and Bekah getting thier faces painted.

Ellie wanted a horse and Mia become a flower!

Look it's 3 Incredible Hulks!
Ray, Weston, and Mason!

The balloon animals were cool too!

Bekah has a parrot and Brieanna has a flower hat.

This was the amazing reptile show.

Here is Ellie's friend Jenna holding a newt lizard
This is 1/2 of the kids getting ready to hold the Burmese python.
Here they are holding it. My niece, Brieanna in front and Weston behind her.
What a really cool snake!
It was a long, hot, fun day!

Bekah's Build-A-Bear Birthday!

This is Bekah's 6th birthday cake! It turned out pretty cute despite all the problems I had making it! She loved it and that's what counts!
Here is the cousin picture- Not sure where Ray was The some of the guests- Grpa Blaine, Grpa Vic, Gramie, and Aunt Charlotte
Some of Bekah's presents
One of Bekah's favorite gifts was from her cousins, who spent 3 months in Japan, and brought her back Hello Kitty chopsticks, a case, a magnet, & a cool pink bag!
The next day Bekah, Ellie, Brieanna (cousin) and I went down to the Build-A-Bear workshop in the Mall. Bekah made this bear and named her Rosie. She got to get a few outfits and shoes too! (Coupons are the best!)

I took a bunch of pictures of the event and eating lunch at the Old Spaghetti Factory with my phone, but I have no idea how to get them off and on it the blog. Any suggestions?

My Favorite Sounds!

It is very hard to pick my favorite sound. So here are a few of my favorite sounds, some are better than others.

One of my favorite sounds is waking up in the morning and hearing the birds singing out my bedroom window. Sometimes I just like to lay there for a minute and listen. It's so peaceful.

A silly sound I like to hear is my kids remembering to flush the toliet without being reminded.

I love to listen to my husband play the guitar, and I love it when Ellie plays primary songs on the piano on Sunday mornings before church.

I love the sound a baseball makes when it hits the bat!(both Weston & Ellie are playing this summer)

I love it when Bekah breaks out into the silly songs she makes up, some of them are quite entertaining.

I love the sound for laughter, especially my children and husband laughing together,
and Ray's giggle when he is teasing someone!

I am grateful for the quiet after the children have gone to bed!

Cub Scout Day Camp '08

Camp Jeremiah Johnson

We took 20 Cub Scouts (wolves & bears)

It the 1st time for me and for our Cub Master
(Miss Sally) too.

The boys got to pass off quite a few arrow pts. and
had a great time too!

Weston, shooting the bow & arrow!
Weston's good friend, Gunner takes a shot!
Weston showing off his knot tying skills.
Weston's good friend, Drew learning how to tie a bow shank knot.

Weston in the camo jacket, and his
fellow cub scouts shooting BB guns.
Weston did really well, he hit almost all of his targets.

The boys Loved the rafts the best!
Weston is learning how to work the paddle.

Brother Webb, one of the Bear leaders really got into it,
and participated with the boys in everything. All us girls, were glad that he went!

The boat race! It looks like the Pirates are going to beat the Cubs!

Here's the group picture.

It was a really cold & windy day, but we all had a lot of fun!

My Favorite Sight!

Today's journal entry is all about my favorite sight. Unfortunately, I couldn't decide on just one. So here are my top 3 favorite things to look at.
1st is my children, when they are smiling and happy and having a good time.
They were all blessed with their Dad's dimples, so when they smile they are irresistible to me.

2nd I'm a sucker for a cute cowboy & my husband Lyn's,

Wrangler Butt still drives me Nuts!

The fact that he is making dinner is an awesome sight too!

3rd The Heber valley side of Mt. Timpanogos is beautiful!
It's the sight that I missed the most when I lived in the southern states,
and will always remind me of home!

Grma Susy's B-Day!

This is the Strawberry Cake that I made for her.
I tried a new twist to the frosting and it turned out great!
Grpa Blaine & Grama Susy on her 49 again birthday!
Grpa gave her the beautiful roses!

"Happy Birthday To You" was playing on the organ, so we could all stay on tune.
Someone showed Ray how to make the organ play the song, so we got to listen to it over & over again. Every time the song would end, Ray would say "I can make it go again!" and he would run and push the buttons.
Blowing out the candles!

A beautiful necklace and earrings from Gramie.
Chris bought poppers for the kids to blast!

Grma Susy and Ellie after the explosion!
It was a fun time for everyone! We hope you had a great birthday Grma Susy!

Saturday Night Family Fun!

Last Saturday we took the kids and invited Chris & Tiesha and Klint to go up Snake Creek for a cookout and a little fun! We all had a great time. I wasn't shooting well, so there aren't any pictures of me. However, Ellie, Weston, and Bekah all hit the targets some of the time. Ray just had a blast thinking he was so big to get to shoot, but his favorite part was that he got to pee in the woods! My favorite part was roasting marshmallows and making Smores! We all had a great time and smelled just like a campfire when we got home!
