Easter Weekend '08

Every Easter, my Aunts Charlotte and Kathryn have an Easter egg hunt for their great nieces and nephews. Not only an egg hunt, but games and prizes too!
This is the pack the egg on a spoon game.
The younger kids just had to pack the egg down the driveway.

The older kids had to race. Weston's in the lead!
They also had an egg rolling race down the driveway with spoons.

It was so funny to watch.

Easter Egg Hunt '08

The little kids hunted their egg in the front yard, where there wasn't too much snow.
The middle kids hunted in the snow behind the house.
The big kids, hunted in the snowing field.
They had to watch out for the deer poop.

They all got very Spoiled, and had a lot of Fun!

This is all the nieces and nephews that live close.

Purse Cakes for the R.S. B-day '08

For the Relief Society Birthday party, my friend Rachel, asked me to make
the cakes for the party. The theme of the night was
"Our Purse-onal Journey Closer to Christ"
So I made four purse cakes to go with the theme.

This cake is Choc. cake w/ choc. frosting and pink bubblegum tape accents.

This one is yellow cake w/ strawberry cream cheese filling and pink frosting and licorice accents

This one is white cake w/ lemon pudding filling, yellow frosting and jelly bean accents.

The handle is spice jelly beans strung on craft wire.

This cake is carrot cake w/ cream cheese frosting, the handle is wire ribbon, and the accents are made from molded yellow tootsie rolls.

I found this design for the Channel purse on the internet.

All together the turned out pretty cool! Everyone seems to love them!

St. Patrick's Day Fun!

Not quite Green Eggs and Ham, but just as fun!
Bekah liked the green applesause! Ray thought the green Mac n Cheese was silly, but the green milk was cool!

That night, we had Lyn's family over for the traditional Green and White Dinner!

Everything we serve has to be green or white.

It's fun trying to come up with different menus each year.

This is the kids table. Larry the Leprechan is a tradition too!
The Adult table, plus Ray and Sierra.
Check out those green mashed potatoes! Yummy!

This big cheesy grin is for my friend Jenny, she says I am never in the pictures!
It was a great day, and fun to spend St. Patrick's Day with our family!

A Beautiful Day!

On Sunday March 9th, we went down to SLC for Lyn's cousin Lori's baby blessing. Lori's daughter Samantha, has had a hard start at life, but is now doing so much better. It was good to go down and be able to share this special day with the Flitton cousins. Anyway it was so nice and warm down there, they don't even have anymore snow. It felt like Spring. So I talked Lyn into taking us to the Salt Lake Temple to walk around.
This is the kids by the Conference Center Roof Fountain.
The Temple looks so beautiful against the clear blue sky!
The kids had a blast playing in the fountains!
The best part of course was to get to see the statue of Jesus Christ, and feel the spirit there. Weston said that was his favorite part too. It was so peaceful to just be there and walk around the grounds on such a beautiful Sunday day. My favorite purple crocuses were even starting to bloom. Spring is coming soon!

Bowling Night!

The kids have been asking to go bowling, for what seems like for ever. I we finally gave in last Sat. and called ahead and reserved a spot. Bekah and Ray had a blast.
Weston was gettin a lot of spares with his Granny style of bowling!
Ellie had a hard time perfecting her stance, but after a while she started knocking down the pins.
The true bowler really came out in Lyn, and he got a couple of strikes. I used to be a pretty good bowler, but not tonight!
Chris and Tiesha went with us too. It was a lot fun! the kids (big & little) had a really great time!
Ray was fascinated by the ball machine!
This is the ending score. Lyn beat us all, but who was really keeping score anyway?!
It was a fun family night out!

Weston and Ashlynn

This past weekend Weston's cousin, Ashlynn(Paul's daughter) was baptised. They are only 3 weeks apart in age, and I'm happy to say, good friends too. I hope they always will be.

It was fun for me growing up to have a cousin my same age. Paul and I did have fun together. Now that we are both older, he can still stand me in small doses. He might even claim me as his friend and I will always appreciate his good example to me. I love ya, even if you think I'm strange!
