Suzy Bogguss Concert!

Lyn Surprised me with Suzy Bogguss Concert tickets, for Saturday nights concert at Sage Creek Arena in Charleston.
This is me with Suzy and my Big Perma Grin!
I was so excited it was all I could do to stay in my seat and not get up and dance around with excitement!!
She gave an awesome performance, and was very personable with the crowd, told some great jokes and even lost her place in a song.
She sang all my favorite songs, for my college days, and even some new ones too!
Suzy and her husband, Doug Crider even performed together.
On the last song, Suzy had Richard and Mary Kaye, and Doug sing the Red River Valley with her.
The sounded great together! Amazing harmony!
Lyn, Me, and Suzy
All my Suzy Bogguss stuff, that I had her sign!

F.H.E. Hike!

Monday the 6th for Family Home Evening, we took the kids up to the Wasatch Mountain State Park Campground(where Lyn is currently working) and went on the Pine Creek Nature Trail Hike.

It is a little over a 2 and a half mile hike round trip. It was a mostly shaded, single file hike, with lots of place to rest, and information signs about the local plants.
Ellie, Weston, Ray, Bekah, and Dad showing off their muscles.
At the top of the hike is a Boulder Field, that was made by glacial ice runoff.
The kids thought it was fun to climb the rocks.
I made it!
Ellie and some pretty purple flowers.
It was really hard not to pick some for a bouquet.
It was a fun hike, Ray made it the whole way without being packed!

CUB SCOUTS
One of the reasons for doing the hike for F.H.E. was to see if I could make it!
We took the Cub Scouts on Thursday, afternoon. It was hot, but fun!
The gang at the Boulder Field!
Mr. Becker(cowboy hat), Drew, Mrs. Becker, Gunner, Page, Tanner, Weston, Derrick, Connor, Kayden's cousin, and Kayden
All of us at the entrance to the Lost Mine!
The boys thought it was cool!

Small Town Quilt Show

I made this baby I-Spy quilt, for my niece Chloe. She loved it!

Over the 4th of July weekend, the Zurmatt Resort, in Midway hosted a Small Town Quilt Show.
There where a little over 100 Quilts on display, and despite the rain quite a few people came.
I was truly inspired by all the fun designs and beautiful quilts.

I love this block.
I'm going to combine it will some other blocks I love and make another Patriotic Quilt.
This Block will be a fun way to use all the old jeans I've been saving.
This one is called grandmother's hankies.
Way cute idea!
These are some of the quilts I loved!
Really liked the colors in this one.
Really love the stars in this one.
This one was my favorite of the whole show.
I'm on a Patriotic kick lately, and just love this design.
This one is my design and quilting job. I didn't have it judged because I'm still learning. I made it for the design challenge this year and it's called Baskets of Friendship. I made it for Aunt Kathryn for her birthday,

Kandy, Maurice, Ellie, and Maria went with me over to the show.
Here are their favorites!
Maurice loved the black Kaleidoscope Quilt
Kandy loved this barns and chicken quilt, especially the red, white, & blue chicken laying the eggs. She really loves chickens!
Ellie's favorite was this Stained Glass Quilt, it also won Best of Show.
Maria loved this Moda quilt, by our fellow quilt guilder, Natalia Bonner. She used layer cakes and charm packs to make this quilt, also she won 1st place at the show with another of her quilts.
I'm really glad I took the girls with me, going to this quilt show even inspired them!
