Heather's Projects

This is another cake that I made for Lyn's partners daughter, Landrea. It turned out pretty cool.
She is a very girly girl so this jewelry box cake was prefect for her. My friends and family are telling me I should start a cake decorating business. What do you think?!
This is my 1st major quilt design for my new hobby, the Heber Valley quilt guild. It is a 6month project called design challenge, and this is 2 months worth. 1st was to make a quilt out of the assigned element, my was earth, the others where air, water, and fire, and 2nd was to applique something on it. I found the bear pattern online and really wanted to use it. My friend/mentor Rachel really helped me out with this! If it wasn't for her I would never be able to do this! Thanks Rach! It's been fun. So far, so good.
This is another project I've been working. A R.S. Valentine enrichment project. Yes, Valentine's is over, but I have other plans for this cute quilt.

Super Under-roos Man!

Lately when Ray finishes his bath or changes from his jammies to his clothes, he puts on his under-roos and forgets to put on the rest of his clothes. He likes to put on his cape instead and become Super Under-roos Man! Ellie calls him Captain Underpants too.
This is Super Under-roos Man's disguise.
Super Under-roo Man to the rescue!
Flying through the air(jumping off the steps). Super Under-roos Man has many super powers. He can fly, and shoot red X bombs out of his hands. So if you are a bad guy or a monster you better watch out!

This is funny for me, cause I've never had a child that likes to run around in their underwear before. Maybe he gets it from his Dad!

Cabela's with Dad '08

The kids wanted to do something fun with Dad on their day off from school, so we took Uncle Klint and went down to Cabela's. We actually went out to dinner 1st, which was nice that I didn't have to fix anything. We went to the kid's favorite place to eat, Fazoli's! After that it was Cabela's here we come!
This is in the Aquarium! Yes, that is a real sunken boat.

Ellie and a big Salmon! That would be a nice catch!

Bekah and the albino catfish!

Ray and Bekah and a few rainbow trout.

This is the safari region, with Ellie and her favorite animal, the Zebra!
Off to the side you can see the lion attacking a gazelle!

This is the mountain part, in the middle of the store, it has three regions of animals, mountain, snow, and desert. It's fun to see the different animals in each region. This is Weston and a bull elk from the mountain region. Weston recently did a report and Elk at school and used this picture for part of his report. My kids favorite part of going to Cabela's is the shooting gallery. Kinda like the one at Lagoon. The different sections of the store have free tokens for the kids, you just have to ask for them.
The kids love this part. Ray is especially funny. When he is out of bullets, he just sits there and says "Hey Mom, I need more bullets!"

Make sure you watch out for that skunk, if you shoot him he sprays you with water.

My Niece's Birthdays!

This is the Supergirl cake I made for my niece Sydney's Birthday!
She loved it!

I ordered the frosting from Days, they have the best color selection!

This is the Princess Castle cake I made for my niece Andalyn's Birthday!

Yes! It looks like the Princess's are tipping over, but the dresses are longer than their feet. I guess that's a polly pocket princess for ya!

She just turned two! It was a fun cake to make, her Mom, Emily helped me frost it. I got all my cute ideas from http://www.cakecentral.com/ It is the best site but very addictive! Happy Birthday Girls! Love ya!

Valentine's Day Dinner '08

For Valentine's Day, Lyn and I usually go out or have friends over for dinner. This year we decided to spend it as a family. I ordered Chinese early in the day so I could get the lunch price and then we just reheated it for dinner. It was so good and still too much food!
Everyone used chopsticks to eat, even Ray. These are Ellie and Weston's chopsticks brought back from Hong Kong by a family friend. They get to use them on special occasions.
Bekah and Daddy
Momma and Ray.

It was fun to just spend a little extra time together as a family. Lyn also bought the kids a new DVD of 150 old time cartoons. Like Popeye, Betty Boop, Paul Bunyan, ect. They all stayed up and laughed til bedtime.

Valentine's Day Cookies!

For Valentine's we like to make cookies and frost them and give them away!

This is Weston & Bekah helping with the cutting out part.
Then for FHE, we had Tiesha come over (Chris was a work), and frost the cookies with us.
Everyone had a good time and the kids got very creative.
It was a fun family home evening. It took us a long time to frost all the cookies so just Ellie, and Weston went with me to take them around. they both got caught a couple of times but it was still a fun night!

Artist of the Month

My cousin's wife Katrina Berg, is the Artsit of the Month for Feb. at the Wasatch County Library. Her wonderful paintings are hanging up on the walls above the computer stations. She is an amazing artist. Most of her current art is of old homes and barns around the valley. She is having a drawing for a free painting at the end of the month, so make sure you go to the library and vote for your favorite. Also to all of my family that is away, I will go in and vote for you if you want and maybe one of us will win! :) If you would like to check out Katrina's art go to http://www.katrinamadsenberg.blogspot.com/ My favorite paintings are of the old barns and also my Uncle Woodrow's house. Check it out!

Grandpa Berg's 60th Birthday

Dad with his cards from my kids.
For my Dad's 60th Birthday we all went out to eat at The Cobbler House. It was very good, as always. It was a suprise party, however me and my kids missed the suprise part. We all had a great time, though.

This is Ray with Grandpa's balloons. Grandma insisted on the Over the Hill black ones.
Grandpa and his birthday cobbler. He was humoring me for this picture.

It was a fun night. Krystalina presented him with a book of memories from all of us. It turned out very nice. We missed all of you that couldn't be there, and Dad was suprised until he saw Kathryn's car. At least he didn't know we were planning it.

Date Night

Richard Espinoza, Hollis Pyper, Susy, Blaine, Lyn and Me.

Lyn suprised me this morning when he called and asked if I could get a babysitter for tonight. His Mother won tickets to the TheLedgends of Country Music concert in SLC and wanted to take all of us. I couldn't believe that he actully could make time to go. I guess I'm so used to him working for Heber Appliance and having to ask for time off at a 2 weeks notice. Owning your own business has it's perks!

Anyway, Aunt Kathryn said she would tend the kids and so we went. It was a lot of fun, and nice to just relax, and enjoy an evening out. The new place that Ledgends of Country Music has aquired to do their concerts is a really neat old theatre converted to a concert hall in Murry.

Weston's 8th Birthday and Baptism!

(L-R) Drew, Weston, Reise, Conner, Hagen and Ray in front.
Weston had his friend party on Friday the 1st, right after school. We had a pirate party! We learned some pirate words like AVAST means STOP, and also had a treasure hunt, complete with the treasure chest buried in the snow. I even drew pirate tatoos on thier arms with markers. In the end all the boys werre made into true scallywags with swords and pirate eye patches.

Sat. Feb. 2nd, we had cinnamon french toast, ham and O.J. for birthday breakfast.

After breakfast Weston got to open 1 present, birthday clothes, a pirate ship puzzle, and new church clothes for his baptism.

Weston's baptism was at 5 p.m. that evening, because of President Hinckley's funeral, so it was an emotional day for many reasons. We are so proud of Weston and his decision to be baptized!

Lyn(Dad) was able to baptize Weston, and he was the only one in our ward, so it was Weston's special day. Everyone helped with the talks and music, Ellie even played the piano while we were waiting for the guys to get dressed. She did a great job!

This is Weston and Dad and Mom right after his baptism.
It was such an awesome day!

After the baptism it was time for Weston's family party!

This is the pirate ship cake that I made for his birthday, it turned out really cool!

Weston thought it was the best cake ever!

This is the cousins picture!
(CLW) Weston, Derrick, Ray, Kolton, Andalyn, Bekah, Maddison, Sydney, Ellie, and Trinity.

Weston blowing out the candles!
Weston's favorite present, a fun marble game for Uncle Chris and Tiesha!

It was a great day and then the next day, Sunday, Feb. 3rd, It snowed like crazy and a lot of our family weren't able to come to Weston's confirmation, because of the snow.

Yet we still had an awesome day and Lyn(Dad) was able to confirm Weston and give him the gift of the Holy Ghost. We are so proud of Weston! The newest member of the Heber 9th ward.
