Back to School

The kids are back to school! I can't believe that Ellie is a 5th grader, and that this is her last year in Elementary School. Her teacher Miss Allred is one of the schools favorite teachers, and she is lucky to have her. She is excited to be in 5th grade, because of all the fun things the fifth graders get to do like help with lunch, be on the student council, and be in orchestra, she wants learn the violin.
Weston is in the 3rd grade this year and has Mrs. Hopkins for his teacher. He is excited about preforming in the Disney program this year, and also being in the gifted & talented program.
Bekah is a big 1st grader, and gets to go to school all day. She is excited to get to take a lunch and eat in the lunchroom with her friends. Here teacher is Ms. Red Elk.
Ray is 3 and gets to stay home with his Momma. However, to day he told me that I was boring, and that he need to go to Grandma's and play with her.

My Lil' Mohawk Man

Since the girls went for the BIG change with thier hair for school this year, when it came time to cut the boys' hair, Weston asked for a Mohawk. So I gave him one, and tried to give one to Ray but he didn't want anything to do with that. He only likes his hair buzzed!
Cool side view!
He wore it this way for about 5 days, combing it down for church on Sunday. On Monday after back to school night I shaved it off, even though he wanted to keep it!

Berg Family Fun @ Deer Creek

Berg Family Fun!

Last year all the Kent Berg family that lived around here went to Deer Creek for a day at the lake. This year we did it again, and were only missing my brother Jacob and his family they live in Switzerland, and Jessi just had a baby girl on the 8th of Aug.
Anyway, we had a lot of fun and we got to finally use Lyn's Christmas present, which was to rent two machines of his choice from Club Rec. We rented 2 wave runners and had a blast all day. I even learned how to drive one this year. Tyler took Susan (his wife) for a slow ride out to the buoy. She is 8 1/2 months pregnant. Luckily is didn't start anything. The kids had fun riding the boat, playing on the shore in the mud, and just playing in the water. Mom & Dad provided us with a KFC dinner. It was a GREAT TIME spent together as a family! (Tell all Tuesday too)

Water, Water, and more Water!

Bridal Veil Falls

This is one of are favorite places to play in the summer. The water is so cold, but on a hot day it feels great!
The water at the bottom pool is only about 2-4 ft deep. So it's prefect for wading, and I don't even have to put on my swim suit. Bekah loves to lay down in it!
Weston and Ray like to move the rocks to make dams, and forts.
Ellie likes to climb to the falls in search of cool rocks! We always have a fun time, and usually take a picnic when we go!

Washing the Car!

The kids love to wash the car in the summer! Any excuse to get wet right?!
Of course washing the car always ends in a water fight!
Watch out Weston!

The Berg cousins all got together and went down to Liberty Park in SLC for the day.
It was a very HOT day! We used are zoo passes to get in free to the Tracy Aviary.
(good thing it was free)

Ray liked feeding the ducks.
Bekah & Brieanna thought the Pelican was cool.
Liberty Park Water Fun!

This was by far the best part of the day.
We had a picnic 1st because everyone was starving, then played in the water.
It was a great way to cool off!

Ray running through the circles.

Bekah standing on the water sprayer.
Sammy and Ellie stealin' all the water!
Weston likes to get sprayed in the face!
Mason showing his big muscles!
It was a great day!
All my kids went to sleep on the ride home!(YAH)

A weeks worth of pictures!

One of my favorite cousins, Kim & her soon to be husband Andreas, & Me , and my sister, Annelisa, at Kim & Andreas pre-wedding reception. They are getting married in CA. on Aug 16th. She is only 1 year younger than me, and look at that hunk she found! I am so happy for her!
Ellie's Locks of Love
Bekah got her hair cut short of school this year, because she would never let me do it, and it was mostly just a scraggly mess. So I traded Amanda a cake for a cut, & Bekah got a cute bob for school, that she can do herself.
Ellie was going for just a trim, but decided she wanted her hair cut short too.
So after a locks of love measuring, we discovered that she had just enough to do it.Before!
After!
She is very proud of herself for growing the whole 12 inches before she got it cut.
Now she is going to donate it to Locks of Love.

Bekah, Amanda, and Ellie.
We are so glad that Amanda would do this for the girls!
Thanks! Aunt Mandie!

How do you keep a bunch of kids busy for 2 hours?

Put a bunch of balloons on a trampoline, and let the kids pop them until they are gone!

So Much FUN!

My Obsession

I LOVE the Twilight book series by Stephenie Meyer.
My girlfriends & sisters & I have been waiting all year for the last book in the series to be released.
So on Friday, Aug. 1st, my girlfriend, Sally & I went down to Provo to the Breaking Dawn release party at Borders books. We went out to dinner first, at the Olive Garden. Yummy! Then we went to the Mall and bought these shirts for the party!
My favorite guy character in the books is the "werewolf" Jacob Black, so my shirt says "I run with the pack" and Sally likes the vampire, Edward best, so her shirt says "One Bite is all it takes". We had a lot of fun at the party and got to meet a lot of interesting people and make some new friends.
This is me answering my question for the trivia contest. My question was "What did Jacob call himself in the tent?" from the Eclipse book. Space Heater! Luckily for me I got a Jacob question!
The store had a T-shirt contest. This shirt won 1st place! Very inventive! These other shirts were just some of my favorites.

Cute Pregnant Lady's shirt! I ordered the book online from Amazon, however I couldn't wait. So one the way home Sally & I stopped by Smiths, where another one of our friends, Miss J, was saving us a place in line to buy Breaking Dawn! Kinda crazy that there would be a line at Smiths in Heber!
Well, I started reading the book Sat. morning at 12:30a.m. and after some sleep that morning and some more reading Sat., and Sunday after church, I finally finished it Monday morning about 3 a.m.!
It was weird, but good! I'm sure, I'll like it more after I read it again!
However, Sally has my book now, because hers is stuck in transit in Denver for some reason. So I will have to wait until I get it back!

24th of July Fun!

24th of July!

We Spent the 24th of July with the Berg family this year.
We started with a early morning breakfast at Whiskey Springs, with traditional pancakes, and Katrina's yummy oatmeal ones, scrambled eggs, potatoes with bacon in them, fruit, and of course choc. milk & O.J. The kids always have to go up the trail hike with Aunt Kathryn, and then the older kids will usually persuade a few of the adults to take them to the rock slide.

Next we head back down to Heber to the Berg park to decorate the bikes, scooters, wagons, etc. for the bike parade. This year's Grand Marshall was Aunt Julee with her new bike.
After the parade around the block, we got out the swimming pools, and water slide and the guys even played croquet for a while.

For dinner that night we went over to Aunt Kathryn's to play, visit, and eat, in her big back yard. It was good to be together as a family.

Next it was back to Grandma & Grandpa Berg's for fireworks.
It was a great day, and fun to spend it with all our family!
