Family Vacation in Yellowstone

For our family vacation this summer '07 we decided to go to Grand Teton National Park, Yellowstone National park and to spend a day in Jackson Hole, WY. Lyn and I had both been to Yellowstone when we were younger, and had great memories we wanted to share with the kids. I had forgotten how breathtaking it truely is there. We went in June, just after Bekah's birthday. So it was still "spring" and cheaper to stay and still a little cold, but the park had baby animals to see, and less tourists. This picture is of the Grand Tetons, before the storm.
Our first night we stayed at the Coltor Bay cabins in the Grand Teton's. it was a fun place to stay and we were glad we stayed in a cabin, because it rained that night. Yet, it was so beautiful the next day.

The kids favorite part of Yellowstone was the Dragon's Mouth, it really
sounded like a dragon was growling from inside the cave.

Buffalo at the roadside. Ray's favorite. After this, every time we got in the
truck Ray said "I want to see the Buffalo!"
Elk still in the velvet. Beautiful

I remember Old Faithful being bigger! Don't You?
This was the very best part of our trip, to finally get to see the mother grizzly bear and her cubs.

We spent a lot of time the day before trying to find them, however where ever we were they had just been. So it was a real treat to be on our way out and just happen upon them. The kids loved it, of course, however I think Lyn and I were just as excited!

This is at Lewis Falls, the last day in Yellowstone, also right before the camera died because we forgot to charge the battery. The rest of the trip was great however the pictures of the Jenny Lake hike, and all our fun in Jackson, WY. are on a disposable camera. Yet, it was an awesome family vacation. The kids keep asking us, "When can we go back to Yellowstone!"

Heather, it's good to see some pictures of you and your family! It looks like Yellowstone was a great trip. Tell Ellie, Weston, Rebekah, and Ray hello from their Uncle Jacob, Aunt Jessi & Abram in Switzerland! We will add your blog to our links on our blog.

Looks like a blast! And to think, we were invited. But oh no, the Cranes couldn't do ANYTHING that fun could we?
Sorry, getting a little sassy there. But it does look like a great time.
